New Panther FB Coach - Adam Kirby

ADAM KIRBY NAMED NEW HEAD FOOTBALL COACH AT MHS

 At the regular scheduled Board meeting on December 11, the Magnolia School Board approved the hiring of Adam Kirby as the new head football coach at Magnolia High School. Adam comes from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport where he has served as head coach for the last two seasons.

Coach Kirby’s educational background includes an Associate of Arts degree from Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, TX, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.

The new Panther coach started his coaching career as the offensive line coach and recruiting coordinator at Independence Community College in Independence, KS during the 2012 season. The following year he served the same position at McMurry University in Abilene, TX. In 2016, Kirby worked in several positions at Southwestern College in Winfield, KS including Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. In 2019, Adam joined the staff at Sulphur High School in Sulphur, LA. where he worked as the Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. In 2021, he moved to Captain Shreve where he served in multiple roles including Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator.

In 2016, Coach Kirby was one of thirty-nine coaches selected nationally to participate in the NCAA-NFL Coaches Academy in Tampa, FL. He was named the Offensive Coordinator for the LHSCA I-20 All-Star Game in 2021 and also served as Offensive Line Coach at the 2022 All-Star Game. Adam was awarded the 2023 District 1-5A Coach of the Year and was a finalist for the 2023 GeauxPreps Louisiana Coach of the Year.

 During this past season, Captain Shreve had an overall record of 9-2, and earned their first undefeated district championship in school history and their first outright district title in thirty-five years. Coach Kirby’s team had three players named to individual weekly awards and had twenty-four All-District selections.

 Adam and his wife, Rachel, have twin five year-old sons, Everett, and Jackson.
