As part of Arkansas' School Board Member Recognition Month, the Magnolia School District will recognize each member of the Magnolia board. Today's spotlight is Board Vice-President, Steven Souter.
Steven Souter is a lifelong resident of Magnolia and a 1988 graduate of Magnolia High School. He received his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, from Mississippi State University in 1996. Steven is employed as a mechanical engineer at Albemarle Corporation. He is an active part of the Magnolia community, where he served on the Magnolia-Columbia County Chamber of Commerce Board and United Way Board. He also served as a faithful volunteer at the Magnolia Blossom Festival and Magnolia Boys and Girls Club. He is an active member of Greers Chapel United Methodist Church and has a passion for volunteering with the Ozark Mission Project, which helps teach young people life skills while helping those and need. He is married to Kelli Souter, and they have two children, Drake and his wife Kimberly and Clara Beth. When asked why he enjoys serving on the Magnolia School Board he says, “I want to continue the tradition of the Magnolia School District in helping all children reach their potential in life.”
