Brandi Minter Named as Kindergarten Teacher

Brandi Minter has been named our newest kindergarten teacher! This Southern Arkansas University (Bachelors) and University of Arkansas Monticello (Masters) graduate brings six years of education experience from teaching kindergarten to third grade between Texas and Arkansas. She is coming from Bentonville School District where she served as a kindergarten teacher at Osage Creek Elementary. She says kindergarten is her absolute favorite grade to teach!

Why education? "I chose to become an educator for a few reasons. Teachers have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many children. I love getting to come to work to see the smiles on my kids faces and being able to be more than a teacher for some of them. All of my Sounders need me to teach them the content, but some need me to be there for them when they might not have another adult they can count on. I love watching the tremendous growth both socially and academically each year!  I had a lot of influential teachers in my life that I looked up to and are the reason that I wanted to be a teacher. I hope that I can have that same impact on the students that I teach."

Why East Side? "I chose to work at Magnolia School District because I get to work with awesome teachers (some who taught me) and students! Also, I wanted to work for a school that was close to home (I'm from Buckner), but one that had many opportunities for academics and athletics for my own child."

What do you look forward to most about this year? "What I look forward to the most about this next year is getting to know my upcoming class of students and my co-workers! I am looking forward to instilling a love of learning for my kids!  I can't wait to learn and grow professionally this year!"
