Many MHS Juniors Need to Test This Summer
MHS juniors who will be taking Advanced Placement Language and Composition next school year (advanced junior English with Ms. Hinton) can earn free concurrent college credit from SAU if they have a 19 in English and Reading on the ACT or an equivalent score on the Accuplacer Reading and English tests. You can take the Accuplacer at the SAU testing center, but you have to wear a mask and they will take your temperature when you arrive. You have to have an appointment, so you start by calling the testing center at 870-235-4145. They will know what test you are asking to take and why. The first time is free, but after that, it is $10 for each attempt. You can test more than once, but not always on the same day. The Accuplacer tests are not timed. You can also take the Accuplacer at home, but the cost is $35 or more and you will need a credit card. To take the test at home, you will need a code from SAU, so you still need to call the testing center for the code. (Parents should have gotten a letter concerning this over the weekend.) Juniors! Get this this done before school starts, so you don't miss out on a great opportunity!

Have you seen the school district's Virtual Art Show? We couldn't have it in the arena, but the art teachers have been working to put together a virtual show to share what their students have been working on! You can find it on our website, https://www.magnoliaschools.net/.

Girls Who Code is offering a free Virtual Summer Immersion Program (SIP). SIP is a virtual 2-week program that teaches girls entering grades 10-12 the computer science skills they need to make an impact in their community, while preparing for a career in tech. With these changes from our in-person to our now virtual program model, we will be hosting the largest coding program for girls in the country and would love your girls to join us.

A message to Magnolia High School Seniors from the counselor’s office.
We will soon be finishing up grades for the seniors. Once everything is processed we will be able to send the FINAL COMPLETE transcript to the college of your choice.
Before this can be done, we must have your help. The counselor’s office needs permission from the student as to where the final transcript needs to be sent. In addition to the transcript, test scores and immunization records will be included. Please send an email to Tracy Card (tcard@magnoliaschools.net) or Linda Smith (linda.smith@magnoliaschools.net) with the following information:
-Student Name
-Student ID#
-Phone # you can be contacted at
-College(s) you have decided to attend and have enrolled with
If you have already done this, then you are all set. Thank you.
Please remember, even though partial transcripts and documents may have previously been sent, the counselor’s office must have notice for where the final transcript needs to be sent.
Please help us share and spread the word to seniors. Thank you.

What does this mean? It means that meals for your student(s) will be delivered to your home!
Each household, with children ages 1-18 who qualify for free or reduced school meals, will need to go to the website www.mealstoyou.org and sign up by Monday, May 11th.
PLEASE help share this to get the word out.
This program will be replacing the food service delivery we have been doing since mid-March. Magnolia School District will not deliver meals after this Friday, 05/08.
