MHS FBLA students competed at the State Competition in Little Rock, AR on Monday and Tuesday. Several students placed in the top 4, securing their spot to compete in the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL this summer. Please congratulate Reed Kirkpatrick 3rd place in Computer Problem Solving; Michael Poulson 4th place in Introduction to Information Technology; David Burgess and Hayden Reed 3rd place in Coding and Programming. Other students placed in the top 6. Please congratulate these students on their success. Symphonie Campbell 5th place in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure Auzy Simmons 5th place in Introduction to Financial Math Lydia Braswell 6th place in Gaming Simulation.

Sophomores Keziah Aryee, DeJuan Dismuke, Tristan Morgan, and Judah Ray visited the Magnolia Rotary Meeting on Thursday, April 25th. They gave a talk about all the things they took away from attending Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp) early this month. The students talked about gaining skills such as courage, communication, and leadership. Thank you to Magnolia Rotary for sending MHS Students to this program. It always has a positive impact on their lives.

Congratulations to senior Christian Coppersmith, who received Third Place in Twelfth Grade in the 2024 Wildlife of Arkansas Student Art Contest! His painting will be featured in Arkansas Out of Doors magazine, a traveling exhibit, and in an online exhibit on the Arkansas Wildlife Federation website.


Congratulations to senior Angela Baxley for bringing home an award from the 2024 Arkansas Young Artist Association Competition! She received an Honorable Mention award for her digital art.


Students in Mrs. Jean's classroom learned about Earth Day on Monday. One of their activities was planting their own flower!





A representative from Clean Harbors will be on campus tomorrow during flex to speak with seniors about possible job opportunities with the company. This will be held in the media center.

Yearbooks at MHS are still available. The copies are dwindling down though, so if you have not gotten one and would like one, especially Senior 2024 students, please stop by and see Mrs. Fish in room 36. Cash or Check only. If you must pay with a card, you may still order the book online at www.jostens.com (I believe you can still make payment arrangements through Jostens as well). If you have already ordered one, please come by and get your book.


Some of our students participated in the 2024 Special Olympics Area Games at Panther Stadium. Medals and ribbons were won, and everyone had a blast. If you see these students, be sure to congratulate them on their accomplishments!


Alpha Kappa Alpha/Darline Shepherd Scholarship applications are available to be picked up in the counseling office (from Mrs. Callicott or Mrs. Marsh). The criteria includes:
1. Must be an African American
2. Must have an ACT score of 16 or higher
3. Must have a cumulative 2.50 or higher GPA
Scholarship Requirements:
1. Fully complete the application
2. Provide a seven-semester transcript
3. Provide a copy of your ACT score(s)
4. Three letters of recommendation (two from MHS faculty and one from a community member)
5. An essay with 250-300 words which includes a description of family/personal background, career aspirations, financial need, and how the scholarship will benefit you
All required documents must be received by the June 30, 2024 deadline.

Magnolia High School sent 9 students to Camp RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp) this week! Five MHS upperclassmen were selected by the organization to be camp counselors; they all went to Camp RYLA as campers during their sophomore year at MHS. Also, four MHS sophomores were selected by their teachers for showing leadership potential to attend Camp RYLA! They will spend the next four days at Camp RYLA, located in central Arkansas, participating in team building exercises, leadership opportunities, making connections, and enjoying a "summer camp experience". RYLA counselors include Chloe Kelley, Breanna Mallory, Marquis Milner, Sha'Niya Watson, and Jamiya Wright. RYLA campers include Keziah Aryee, Dejuan Dismuke, Tristan Morgan, and Judah Ray.
