It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Here at MHS teachers were treated to coffee and doughnuts from PIE, as well as chicken biscuits from Whataburger for breakfast this morning!

Students received their 2022-23 yearbooks today! If you haven't purchased one yet, visit Mrs. Fish next week in room 36. The cost of the book is $55.

Wendy Love teaches marketing and business classes at MHS, and her students run Panther Plaza! Mrs. Love says, "I want to prepare my students for the next step in their lives, whether it be college, vocational school or straight into the workforce."

GT students from Magnolia High School competed against seven other schools at the SCSC Star Wars Quiz Bowl Tournament. These students finished 1st place with 1,690 points! Congratulations to Judah Ray, Isaac Ray, Aiden Jones, Brennan Dennis, Blake Green, Morgan Middleton and Brodie Goodwin.
Freshman Cheyenne Evans competed in the 2023 ACTM Geometry Math Contest last Saturday at UCA. Cheyenne was one of 300 students who qualified by placing at the regional level in March!
Congratulations to Christy Owen for receiving the honor of being named the AREA Teacher of the Year for South Arkansas!
The Arkansas Rural Education Association recognizes two Teachers of the Year, one from the North and one from the South of Interstate 40, as an outstanding Arkansas educator. Each Educational Service Cooperative nominates a deserving candidate, whose district must be a member of AREA. Arkansas Rural Electric Cooperatives provide the selected Teachers of the Year $1,000 each and a crystal apple.

The next multi-generational family business featured in the Magnolia READS Video Series is Farmers Bank & Trust. Molly Harsh Burns, Elizabeth Burns Anderson, and Chris Gosnell share the history of this fifth-generation business that was established in 1906.

Collin and Lucas have won Highschool Anglers of the Year (AOY) for the Trader Bills Highschool Trail earning them a berth to B.A.S.S. Nationals representing Team Arkansas this Summer! Nationals will be at Lake Hartwell in Anderson South Carolina July 24-29. They will be competing on the Red River in LA in a BASS high school open May 7th and the State Tournament on May 13 and 14th to finish up their season. They will be awarded their trophies and prizes at the State Tournament on May 14th at Millwood Lake. This will make back-to-back appearances at Nationals for These Magnolia Panthers. They finished with the top point total after 4 events on Lake Maumelle, Lake Hamilton, Lake Greeson, and Lake DeGray. They have worked hard all year and we are very proud of their accomplishments. Thank you to their sponsors and Magnolia Public Schools for supporting these Panthers!

Craig and Clay Cheatham, and Amy Cheatham Rogers share the history of this third-generation business started by 1952 Magnolia graduate, Jimmy Cheatham.

MHS BASEBALL TIME CHANGE
Due to the threat of rain later in the day, the Panther baseball game with DeQueen today has been moved up from 5:00pm to 4:30 pm.

The make-up Panther softball game with Malvern is scheduled for today in Malvern starting at 5:00 pm.
The MHS softball game with Malvern has been rained out. No make-up date has been decided at this time.
Two students from Ms. Vann and Mrs. Cornett's WOLF Work Based Program are getting to job shadow this week with some of the best on the MHS Campus. Zateriney Brock and Jeremiah Brooks are working hard, learning the skills they need to achieve their goals for the work field. Both students will be graduating in May and will be ready to hit the work field prepared!
