Congratulations to Christy Owen for receiving the honor of being named the AREA Teacher of the Year for South Arkansas!
The Arkansas Rural Education Association recognizes two Teachers of the Year, one from the North and one from the South of Interstate 40, as an outstanding Arkansas educator. Each Educational Service Cooperative nominates a deserving candidate, whose district must be a member of AREA. Arkansas Rural Electric Cooperatives provide the selected Teachers of the Year $1,000 each and a crystal apple.

Two students from Ms. Vann and Mrs. Cornett's WOLF Work Based Program are getting to job shadow this week with some of the best on the MHS Campus. Zateriney Brock and Jeremiah Brooks are working hard, learning the skills they need to achieve their goals for the work field. Both students will be graduating in May and will be ready to hit the work field prepared!

Students from Mrs. Cornett and Ms. Vann's room participated in the FIRST EVER UCS Unified Track event held at Bryant High School. Unified sports give students with disabilities a chance to partner and train with an athlete who doesn't have a disability. They also compete together in different events. We are proud of all the athletes and happy to say we came in 4th place in our division! Way to go Panther's!
